Aynslee Lou- 6 months old

Age: 6 months

Height: 26 1/4 inches

Weight: 16lbs 2oz

Milestones: Rolled over from tummy to back on 10/8/13.

Sleep: Goes to bed between 8 and 830pm and wakes between 7-8am. Then usually naps from 9ish-11ish. Then she will nap again from 1ish- 330ish. She has been needing a third nap and will sleep from 5ish- no later than 615p. BUT we did hit a speed bump this month. The first week of Oct she started to wake up several times at night bc she would roll onto belly and didn't know that she could sleep on her belly. So after two nights of little sleep I knew I had to do something... So I took away the swaddle blanket and placed her on her belly to start with (this all happened before 10/8 when she then learned to roll back over, thankfully she hasn't had trouble with rolling onto her bk while sleeping..just yet anyways :) ). She fussed at first but I would let we cry for 10 min and then go in and pat her bottom and then repeat till she was asleep. This gave her reassurance I wasn't gone for good but also taught her she couldn't get out and be held. The first night it lasted around 50 min and by night three she was bk to our 'good' sleeper. We lay her on her belly and she stays put with no tears!! Naps have been hit or miss (thanks to our schedule and night owl life) but towards the end of the month we kind of got more of a routine down and I think it's helped her sooo much.

Best Moment: We went to the pumpkin patch on 10/7/13 and she LOVED it. She thought the animals were great and loved the hay-ride!

Worst Moment: She got her first boo boo, an ingrown nail. And we found out that she is allergic to adhesive. Thanks to a burn like sore on her inner finger. Looked like a 2nd degree burn with a blister in the middle :(( Sorry sis, no more princess bandaids for you!! Broke my heart! Let me tell you, being a Mama is much harder than being an intensive care nurse.

Eating: She still nurses at 9am, 1pm, 5pm, 9pm. Give or take if needed and also if she is starving at 1130 I won't make her starve ;). We have also introduced several fruits and vegetables. She has one or two servings of either or a day along with a serving of multigrain baby cereal. She has had peaches, sweet potatoes, carrots, avocado, banana, peas, and pears. She loves them all..humm..not sure what will be next but I have really enjoyed making them all fresh for her!

Extras: She is starting to be able to sit up for longer periods of time. She continues to love her exersaucer and loves to be read to. She is such a happy-smiley babe. We are blessed!!

Her poor boo boo and then the bandaid that caused the bigger boo boo : (

What the bandaid did to her poor finger. You can kind of see the blister in the middle of the red circle. : (((

Crazy to look back at just how much our baby boo has changed. Time needs to SLOW!!!

Aynslee Lou- 5 months old

Age: 5 months

Height: 25 inches

Weight: 15lbs

Milestones: Rolled over from back to tummy on Sept 3rd. Sits un-supported for a good 10-15sec!

Sleep: Goes to bed between 830-930pm and sleep till 7 or 8am. Then usually takes a long morning nap from 9-noon ish then again from 130ish to 430-5ish. We try and keep her up from 5pm till bedtime. She eats cereal around dinner time. She might take an hr cat nap around 6 or so if she gets to be a little too crabby! Needless to say she loves to sleep, like her Mama!!

Best Moment: The smile that consumes her face the minute she sees her Daddy or I walk into a room!

Worst Moment: She definitely is not a cryer so I have a feeling she is going to be a fit thrower. It will definitely get nipped in the bum but at five months old its a little hard to tell her to go to timeout!! She will definitely tell you she doesn't like something by arching her back and giving you a nice little "talking" to!!

Eating: We have just recently tried to transition to every four hours of eating during the day..some days she is okay with it other days she just wants to nurse every three hours. I try and stay on the ROUTINE of 9,1, 5, 9...and like I said we are still just doing cereal in the evenings. She is definitely loving it and will eat a full bowl these days!

Extras: She LOVES being outside! We have gonna for a few jogs and she is the best running buddy, except its a lot of work on the Mama!

She is soooooo very slobbery and has been since she was a couple months old! LOL

I had to do everything to keep her from eating the chalk ;) She thinks she is pretty big these days and does everything in her power to sit-up without any help!

My Fav Baby Items: 3 Months/4 Months

Aveeno baby face stick: Summer time means lots of sun and being outside. I knew that I needed to find a great sunscreen that would protect Aynslee's skin and something that was baby friendly! You can never go wrong with Aveeno. Their baby face stick is super convenient and doesn't make her breakout or get any weird skin rashes.

Car mirror: We seem to be in the car more than not, this has been put to good use in our home. It's very nice to be able to see what she is doing at all times!

Summer brand Video Monitor: Anyone who is having a baby I recommend investing in the video monitor vs just a regular monitor. It's what helped us feel safe placing Aynslee in her crib since she was 10 days old!! It's nice now bc she recognizes us and if she is fussy we can see what she needs without her seeing us!! Summer brand is very affordable with great ratings!!

Bottle Drying rack: You will find yourself doing lots of dishes. No matter if you are a breastfeeding Mama or use formula. This drying rack comes in very handy, we was LOTS of bottles. It's nice having a dry rock just for bottles and breast-pump parts so they don't clutter up the counter top.

Baby Wise: The best book ever!!! I have read and re-read this book and I love it. I have defiantly tweaked a few parts to make it perfect for Ayns and our family but I love the philosophy and I truly believe Ayns is a happier babe because of it!

Sensitive Baby Wipes, Target Brand: I'm definitely a pampers fan but these target brand wipes are the best! They are very soft and thick and make the whole clean up process so easy.

Bumbo Seat: Love this seat! It goes anywhere, the bathroom, kitchen counter, and even on the back porch. Aynslee is always wanting to sit up and see the world and this lovely seat allows her to do so!

Aynslee Lou- 3 months old

Age: 3 months

Height: 23 1/2 inches (Mommy did the measuring so give or take a little ;) )

Weight: 13.4lbs (home scale, so who knows how accurate)

Milestones: She is sooo very vocal! She is able to squeal in delight and laugh out loud!

Sleep: Aynslee goes to bed around 9pm and I don't get to see her cute little face till after 7am (somedays it's a little sooner but those are getting fewer and far between)...all I can say is, like mother like daughter ;) She wakes and eats in the am and goes right bk to sleep till 10 or 11. And during the day she still does the eat, awake, (for about an hr, sometimes longer) then sleeps for about 1-2hrs..depending on how long she was up). BABY WISE. If you haven't heard of it or are waiting to read it...do it!!! Ill do a blog post all about it in the next couple of weeks :))

Best Moment: Swimming. We love the pool and most importantly Ayns loves the pool. We love the outdoor waterparks at the Y's!!

Worst Moment: Her spit ups! The girl knows how to spit up! Some days she will after every feed and then other days I won't see an oz of spit up. Most days it doesn't even phase her, but we do go through a million burp cloths!!

Eating: I still feed her every three hours during the day. I'm pretty sure we could switch to every four hours but I don't mind it and via my Baby Wise book it's okay to wait till 16 weeks to start every four hour feeds.

Extras: She is our traveling girl!! We first introduced her to car traveling first to....Minnesota, then it was traveling by plane to...Vegas! Our friends were getting married in Vegas and we couldn't imagine leaving our 2 1/2mnth old behind. Many couldn't believe we were taking a babe to Vegas but I wouldn't have allowed anything different. Thankfully my Mama and little sis came along so that Dom and I could still participate in the events without having her out in the wee hours of the morning ;) She did fabulous! Most didn't even know there was a almost-three month old on the plane. She slept the whole time both ways and didn't make a peep! Will post more about traveling later!

Our next stop was a quick trip to KC to see my good friend, Shani and her little man Edje! We had a yummy dinner at Cheesecake Factory (our fav!!) and finished it with Edje loving on Aynslee!! After leaving KC we headed to Lawrence for a little camping trip with my fam! It was soo fun to be with my WHOLE family and to see all the kiddos together! It was HOT but soo worth it!!

My Fav Baby Items: 2 Months

Johnson hands and face wipes: This is probably my very favorite item!! I love the multiple uses you can get from these. Plus, the smell amazing! Must have!!!

Crane Humidifier: Aynslee gets really dry nose boogers..this has helped to soften them up and breathe easier at nigh night time :)

Graco Jogging Stroller: Love this stroller. The front wheel is able to lock in place for jogging or move freely for everyday use. Plus, our Graco connect carseat (they don't match) fits perfectly inside.

Tommee Tippee Bottles: Aynslee loves these. They don't hurt her belly and they are great bottles for breast fed babies!!

Butt Paste: If your child has a Daddy like my Husby you need this stuff!! We (He) use(s) it all the time even if there is no rash. It doesn't stink like many other rash cream and it takes away the rash in just a few hours (depending on the severity). This is even the butt paste our Drs recommend at work ;)

Pampers Swaddlers: the best diapers. I love the sensitive ones but the regular swaddlers are just as great!! Just a little advice..stay clear of the "baby dry" pampers. They caused Ayns to breakout and have heard that several other Moms avoid them too for that reason...

Target play yard: Nana got us this during Black Friday sale at Target. Such a great gift. It keeps Aynslee entertained for long periods of time. Also great as a tummy time mat.

Bunny Bouncy seat: Very comfortable, doesn't take up much space, and has a vibrating/music options. We use this a lots ever since Aynslee has liked to see the world. Works great when I need to get ready in the bathroom and want her in the same room as me :)
